ATTENTION: If you’re reading this, and are a recruiter, please respectfully press the little ‘X’ on the window, delete the file and move on. We are only hiring directly for this role.
We market ourselves as professional nerds, and cater to high-end, bespoke development projects. We’re frequently working on experimental briefs, and like to push ourselves towards the niche, the weird, and the wonderful.
Our brand is fun, cutting-edge, fresh and bold. We rank staff satisfaction, innovation, and flexibility as our key traits.
We’re currently making some big changes, and will be launching our own SaaS product in the new year. Things are going to be moving fast, and we need more talent that shares our outlook.
As a full stack dev, you will work alongside two other developers. You will get a good mix of leading smaller projects, and working alongside the development lead on larger ones.
Your time will be split between client project work, ad-hoc tasks from clients and internal company projects - where we have most of the fun.
There are a few must-haves for this role:
- Lives within, or commutable to Aylesbury.
- Strong knowledge of basic web technologies. HTML5 & CSS3.
- Strong React ability.
- Strong NodeJS ability.
- Commercial development experience, and capable of developing in a team.
- REST API development.
- A nice person.
We like to keep the must-haves short - the right person will be able to learn anything else on the job. Where possible we’d rather hire on potential than experience.
Because of that there are plenty of optional, desirable extras:
- Experience with pre-processors and bundlers. We use a fair bit of Webpack/Babel/SASS.
- Meteor JS.
- AWS architecting.
- Databases - MongoDB & MySQL.
- React Native & Electron.
- Exposure to any other programming languages, EG PHP, Python, C#, Go.
Provided you meet the must-haves, the main deciding factors for choosing a candidate will be personality and potential.
We are a small tight-knit team, and we want someone who will be a part of that group. We don’t want someone materialistic, or just looking for ‘a job’. We want someone who wants a lifestyle change. In return we hope to give you an environment you generally enjoy being a part of. If everyone wants the company to do well, it will.
We’re a fun company to work with, and we care a lot about people being happy, because we think happy teams make the best software! We can offer a negotiable salary at approximately £30k-£35k, depending on experience. You can work any 8 hour slot between 0800-1800, for example an 0800-1600 or a 1000-1800.
We are arranging share options for staff, so that everyone gets more as the company does better in the form of dividends.
We have a free food option available in the form of shakes if you don’t want to bring/purchase your own meals, and we have a local sports club membership. You have open use of our office/equipment to work on personal projects outside of work hours, and we regularly have socials/after work drinks.
There are a lot of options for progression, and we’d like to take on someone who would grow with us.
Please apply directly with a little bit about you to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ultimately, we think it’s a great opportunity, but we’re pretty biased! So if you’re interested, submit your CV (or other supporting file) and an optional hello message, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
