We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our Oxford Languages department. Oxford Languages is facing a new chapter in its story but we maintain the same forward-thinking, mission-focused narrative at the heart of everything we do to unlock the power of language for learning and for life. This role is pivotal for shaping our product strategy and roadmap as we evolve our offering in language data, tools and services, combining a computational approach with lexicographical expertise.

This is a great time to join; the language technology market is changing fast and the Product team need to anticipate and respond to those changes whilst broadening our offer to include tools and services. This role sits within a small, enthusiastic team who embrace new ways of working.

The Product Manager is accountable for future direction, impact, competitive advantage, and overall success of the products in their area of responsibility. They work collaboratively with users, customers, and cross-functional teams to define and then communicate an innovative product roadmap that is differentiated and solves user problems.

Working in cross-functional teams the Product team lead our product strategy to deliver long-term impact and commercial success for Oxford Languages.


You are a high-performing individual, experienced in a broad range of product management, innovation, insight, and collaboration activities. You’ll need to be analytical, a problem-solver who is able to define, implement and communicate solutions in a busy, multi-functional department.

Your experience:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
  • Deep understanding of product development methods and practices.
  • Track record in prioritising activity based upon research and analysis of user needs.
  • A consistent focus on users/customers and putting that into practice.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to learn new technical and linguistic concepts.
  • Collaborative working, able to flex with change, self-directed, great people skills.
  • Desirable: experience or interest in language technology and services.
